Who Let the Dogs Out? Canine Cycle Chic

Animal Ride
I know we have a lot of photos in the Cycle Chic archives. Sometimes, however, it is amazing how many. It's nice to put them into themes once in awhile. We figured we'd do a Bicycles & Dogs article. Simple enough. Until we realised how many photos that would involve. So... here's a Best of Bicycles & Dogs series. Canine Cycle Chic, if you like.
Rome Cycle Chic - Uomo 7
When the bicycle is the preferred transport form - and the most convenient - it is second nature to take your dog with you wherever you may be headed. Most of the photos are from Copenhagen, but it's not just us. The dapper chap, above, is in Rome.

Carrying your dog with you in your basket or whatnot is one way to do it but it's not the only way. Here's a series of shots of people walking their dogs on their bicycles.

And dogs are handy to have in the city. Like this one tied to the very busy bike racks outside the Central Library. Great for guarding much sought after parking spots.

And let's wrap up with the Man Bikes Dog video:

So cute! I should've gotten that chihuahua I fell in love with in Bangkok, cats just aren't as compliant :)

This is such a cute collection of dogs cruising in bike baskets, all the dogs look adorable! Thank you for taking the time to compile and share this collage.

Couture Cruiser designs bike basket liners with soft fleece inside which keeps the dogs cozier in the basket while also protecting the dog's body from the cold air. There's even a small pocket inside for a dog snack or toy.

The cool thing is they come in a multitude of fun, colorful prints to match your bike and personality! Roll in Style! Both you and your dog that is. :)

Couture Cruiser ships internationally. www.couturecruiser.com

These are wonderful. For some vintage photos on the same theme, check out the photos of Audrey Hepburn and Mr. Famous, Carole Lombard and Fritz and Gene Tierney and Butch at http://ridesabike.tumblr.com!

Cheers!

Cuteness overload!!!

I want a dog so badly, maybe there's a market here in London for being a two-wheeled dog sitter?

Delightful photos! My own dog, a Havanese, rides in a trailer behind my bike, but I am definitely treating him to a wicker basket this year. I think he will enjoy riding up front.

Thank you for putting this collection together! It's always fun to see how others transport their dogs by bike.

Adorable is the only word. Oh, yeah, and I love my dogs!

If you want to be "green" you don't keep pet dogs.
Owning and operating a car would use less energy.

If you are anti-car for energy conservation reasons, you should also be anti-pet-dog.

Cost benefit analysis is a bitch.
