Daily Musings from Copenhagen

A Flash of Springtime
The surest sign of spring is the sight of bare legs. My wife and I and some of our friends have a contest each year to see who spots the first pair. Nighttime doesn't count, since bare legs are always a part of the night life, so it has to be during the day. This shot doesn't count, but it signals that we're getting close. Our eyes are peeled.
Threesome
On the stretch of street outside our flat it far between the the traffic lights. Cyclists usually get spread out. Perfect for solo shots. But once in a while you get lucky.
Copenhagen Supermum
Today's Copenhagen supermum. Two bags of groceries hanging on the handlebars, kid on the back, basket filled with school bag and what have you. And just a run of the mill bike. No bells and whistles, just transport.
Wallflower
I love this wall near me. A waterfall in the summer and every night it is lit up with embedded lights.
Two Bikes
It's really hard to take pictures of anything in Copenhagen without a bike in the background.

I stumbled upon your blog and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Thanks for posting your pictures.

One complaint, not enough girls on bikes.

Hej there.
I am in love with this blog.
I'm trying to go study next year in Copenhagen and your site is very inspiring. Makes me wanna take the plane tomorrow. I want to be a Copenhagen girl on bike :P although I'm not Danish.
I live in Lisbon and here the bicycle is not seen as a way of transportation. We're doing our best to prove those who are ceptical, that they are wrong (:

Keep up the good wor.The photos are super delicious.

Hej hej.

Oooh, a waterfall wall lit up with lights? Sounds lovely! Where in the city is it? I'd like to go visit. I love your blog and think about you every time I see cycle chic during my daily travels around Copenhagen (on my bike, of course!). Smooth travels!

p.s. I bike home from the gym in shorts (and my winter coat!) often. Would that count as a bare legs siting?! :)

hey sarah... thanks for your kind words.

it counts... but i have to see it! i rode home yesterday in my shorts from my son's football training... so lovely.
no, that doesn't count. :-)

the waterfall is on Falkonér plads, right behind FRB center. The whole square has speakers embedded in the ground with jungle sounds. And they play jazz on the weekends through the speakers. Super cool.

Perfect! I live in Frederiksberg (though probably moving to Vesterbro for the summer) so I'll have to go check it out when the weather warms up. (like yesterday... ahhh!!) I'll be looking for you and your camera! Keep up the great work! :)
