Status Shift

Great advert from Batavus, the Dutch bike brand.

"Hey neighbour... ESP, ABS, fog lamps, 16 inch rims and 6 gears."

The neighbour says: "28 inch rims, 8 gears, high power lights and computer integrated in the steering. My wife and daughter have the same."

The Advert is too short just when it starts to get a bit interesting with the Bikes starting their Cycling it ends unfortunately. It does not actually show the Bikes up close or Components. Apart from that it is not a bad Advert.

Ah yeas, I remember this one... it's at least a couple of years old, but no less amusing for that!

@ l'Homme; Adverts are generally not about components of the product but the general image (see car adverts) this advert is in no way different. :)

Car manufacturers sell a dream, not the reality of driving. Cycle manufacturers should be able to do the same as our dream is so much closer to the reality.

And a funny detail is that the cyclist is Arnoud Bos, younger brother of Wouter Bos who was Finance Minister in the previous government and party leader of the Dutch Social Democrat Party PvdA.
