Wherever you are in Copenhagen and whatever you may be doing; hugging your girl/guy, lighting a cigarette, walking, farting, picking your nose, shopping, eating, fucking, sucking a milkshake through a straw - somebody is right nearby you, either locking or unlocking a bicycle or riding it past.
You can't swing a damn cat around by the tail without hitting a bicycle. Although watch out for those damn cats... they're trying to kill you.

Cycling Socially [Laughing is Allowed but Not Required]

Girlfriends sharing a laugh.
Girlfriends teasing each other playfully.
Girlfriends sharing a quiet conversation.
Of course, back in the day, there were also interesting ways to enjoy a ride with people you care about. In your regular clothes, just like today. Thanks to Cristi at the Romanian Bike Culture blog for this photo from 1912.

Polish Bloggers Cycle Chic

This is quite brilliant. Quite amazing. Quite humbling.
It's a collage from the cool Polish fashion blog Szafa Sztywniary. While our Polish friends in Krakow, Warsaw, Lodz, Torun and Wroclaw have been waving the Cycle Chic banner high and proud, this collage features Polish bloggers - by and large fashion bloggers - who have all taken a photo involving the bicycle.
What a splendid collection of photos. Szafa Sztywniary got the others to contribute to the collage. Cycle Chic is steadily moving into the mainstream. Thanks to you all. I'm humbled.
And here's a funky Polish animation film featuring a cool cat on a cool bike:

Copenhagen Zen

In the purest sense, it's the individual who defines what is zen or not. This may not have been a zen moment for the Copenhagener pictured, but it is for me. Late evening. A bicycle crossing the street. The street is normally quite busy, but in the evenings in Copenhagen, the motorized traffic dies off as the car owners retreat to the suburbs.
A moment at the red light in the sunshine. Classic nordique. Eyes close. Head tilts towards the sun. A zen moment between person and sunshine.
Coasting across a city square is always quite zenlicious.

The Copenhagen Experience and a Bit of NYC
Frightfully cool advert for leading Danish designer Mads Nørgaard. I think I saw a bicycle in there somewhere, but damn it's a fine little film.
A friend of mine edited this video - he also did the colour grading on my City of Cyclists video for the City of Copenhagen. It's mad wonderful. For the Danish group The Loft. Made entirely of still photographs shot in NYC. Cooliciousness.
In bicycle related news, there was a little youtube film - a fake viral film - circulating the other day, featuring cops hugging cyclists in Denmark. Me and some mates made our own little video response to the video:
