Velomama simply adores these cycle chic fellas and the very discrete emphasis on bicycles...
Now whoever tells me cycling is not elegant, I have nothing more to say.

As seen on Paul Smith's official website...

From Bergen to Poland via Austin and Vancouver

The Norwegian singer Silje Nes, from Bergen, has a wonderful press photo. Cycle Chic to the max, even though 'to the max' is a mad retro expression. Check out Silje's Myspace. Even though Myspace is rather last century, Silje is definately now.
Cracking delicious funkaliciousness from, believe it or not, Austin, Texas. From a travel article in the Norwegian newspaper Dagsavisen.
As ever, you've seen it here first. Coming soon to other blogs near you. Thanks to one Norwegian, Per, who wrote about Silje in Dagens Næringsliv and another Norwegian, Morten, for the Austin photo. Morten is the head of the Icelandic Cyclists Federation.
Here's a shop window for a Canadian clothing company Le Chateau, as seen in Vancouver by Lisa:
A little splash of Cycle Chic on the West Coast of Canada. Every little bit helps towards normalizing urban cycling.
And on the booming Polish Cycle Chic front, Lodz Cycle Chic have a correspondant in Copenhagen at the moment. Check out the Lodz angle on Copenhagen Cycle Chic here. And a warm Cycle Chic welcome to another blossom on the Cycle Chic flower - Wroclaw Bicycle Chic. We're blowing you kisses across the Baltic Sea.
Add Wroclaw to Warsaw Cycle Chic and Krakow Cycle Chic.
Boy, do I ever need to set up a Cycle Chic blogger conference. Not so much chat, just a lot of good wine, cocktails and dancing. What a party that would be. Marc from Amsterdamize will foot the bill.

Ya vuelvo.
Absolutely splendid video about a bicycle in Sevilla. Beautiful, beautiful stuff.
We have a pile of guest photos from Spanish cities in the wings. Just waiting for the time to post them properly. Stay tuned.
In the meantime see more bicycles in Sevilla over at our Copenhagenize.com blog.

Constant

Cycling in Copenhagen is something you do, something you're part of, something that makes you feel like you're part of something bigger than yourself. It is something that also just constantly flows past your window. Wherever your window is. Constant movement. Constant poetry.
Even when your nose is running, you look fabulous.
Just be sure to choose your accessories to match your bicycle.

Style Over Speed

An old favourite here on Cycle Chic. The chap on the left is my hero. More Working-Class-Hero-Chic than chic but his look is proving popular among the male population here. Especially the sixpence hat, as we call it in Danish.
Style over Speed, indeed.
Oh, and I don't know if you've noticed our 'gadget' on the top of the right column. Copenhageners cycle 1.2 million km a day so whenever you're here visiting, you can see how many km we've ridden since midnight, Central European Time.

Taking Stock & Shadowy Characters & a Film Festival

Just walking a bicycle is elegant and aesthetic. That's the Stock Exchange, from 1624, in the background.
Moi, cycliste.
BICYCLE FILM FESTIVAL - CALL FOR ENTRIES - Deadline: March 7
Enter the Ninth Annual Bicycle Film Festival! This annual event's looking for films with a bike-related theme. Any style's acceptable: animation, experimental, narrative, documentary and music videos are all a go.
The Bicycle Film Festival travels to over 20 cities around the world, including Paris, London, Tokyo, New York -- and Sydney.
Last year, more than 100,000 people attended the festival. The BFF is a lot of fun and includes rock shows, block parties, film screenings, and art shows.
The Bike Film Fest is expected to be a huge success in 2009. All cities have been selected and dates for NEW YORK are June 17-21. All other dates will be set within the month.
Get your entry in by the deadline!
Pass the word. Print the poster and put up at your office and/or local cafe.
Thanks, Brendt Barbur - Founding Director, Bicycle Film Festival

Simplicity Deluxe

That magic moment when the human powered machine achieves momentum and the feet instinctively seek out the pedals.
Simple elegance in the morning hours.

Rooster & Chick
Lars has his Queen Louise's Bridge where he fancies to shoot pix of cyclists. I have my Brygge Brigde that always seems to offer eye candy on two or more wheels...
What is it that makes bikes on bridges so fascinating??
